Let's Read OCPS!

Let’s Read, OCPS!, a district-wide reading challenge, will run from January 26 to April 30, 2026, and aims to encourage students to read for enjoyment and develop a lifelong love of reading by contributing to the district-wide goal of reading 50 million minutes.

Welcome to Sand Lake Elementary, a place where learning comes to life! We are proud to offer an exciting, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every student feels inspired, valued, and empowered to thrive.

At Sand Lake, we believe every child deserves the very best. We create a joyful atmosphere that lifts self-esteem, sparks self-motivation, and nurtures a strong sense of personal responsibility. Beyond academics, we guide our students to grow into kind, respectful individuals who care deeply about themselves and others.

Education is a team effort, built on the powerful partnerships between families, teachers, and our amazing, supportive community. Together, we can guide young learners to become confident thinkers, compassionate citizens, and lifelong explorers.

We aim to meet the interests of our diverse learners through a variety of before and after school enrichment opportunities. Programs offered include robotics and coding, musical theater, art, sports, chess, and more.

Our ultimate goal is to prepare every student to take on the world, with curiosity, character, and a commitment to making a difference.

As we say here at Sand Lake Elementary, today, and every day, let’s aim to, “Be a RAY”!
